I often serve this dish at family gatherings. It doesn't look pretty, but it's one of our favourites.

Ingredients
-
4 slices bacon
-
approx 1/2 lb of fresh green beans (I count out 6-7 beans per serving)
-
4 tb unsalted butter
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
1 tb soy sauce
-
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions
-
Preheat oven to 375F and line a 9x13 pan with foil.
-
Boil a medium-sized saucepan of water and add the green beans. Boil for 1 minute and quickly drain and rinse with very cold water. (This part can be done ahead of time. Just leave the beans in the fridge.)
-
Arrange groups of 5 or 6 beans in the prepared pan. Cut each bacon slice in half. Wrap one half slice of bacon around each bundle and secure with a toothpick.
-
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the sugar, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, and cook for one minute, stirring, until the sugar melts.
-
Brush the mixture evenly over the beans and bacon. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the bacon is cooked and well-browned.
